Bios
Rose Mitchell is a native of Appomattox, Virginia. She currently resides in Bloomfield, New Jersey. With nearly eighteen years of experience in the field of higher education, she serves as a college administrator and enjoys teaching and encouraging students to seek their fullest potential inside and outside of the classroom. She earned an MA degree in Counseling from Montclair State University and a BS degree in Business Management from Bloomfield College both in New Jersey.
Rose is also the Founder and President of Step Beyond. Founded in 2002, this organization inspires people to seek opportunities and step towards endless possibilities in their educational, personal, and professional lives. She is a dynamic, motivational speaker and facilitator. Rose delivers powerful and life-altering seminars and keynote addresses for public and private educational institutions, corporations and organizations. In addition to her love for public speaking, Rose is a gifted writer. Journeys of Love Voices of the Heart is her first published book. She is presently working on several books: The Rose Collection, a compilation of inspiring quotes, The ABC’s of Life, a motivational guide to encourage people to live their lives with passion and optimism, and Forever and Always, an anthology on the value, impact, and gift of friendship.
Hillary Roy is a former sales representative turned author. She was born in East Orange, New Jersey and received her BA degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Clark-Atlanta University. She worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Westwood-Squibb (a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb) and Colgate-Palmolive. She later furthered her professional career working as a recruiter and on-site staffing manager for various staffing firms. In addition to this, she was a working contributor and sales representative for Pooka Pure and Simple, an African-American owned all natural Bath and Body Company in New Jersey. Her stories and poems are inspired by the works of Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez and Langston Hughes. Journeys of Love Voices of The Heart is her first published book. She is also working on The Butterfly Series, dedicated to the lives of men/women with AIDS. Hillary currently resides in Norcross, Georgia.
